Finance Tracker is built on a simple principle: your financial data is yours. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Finance Tracker is a product of AppCafe.in.
What we never access
Finance Tracker is a manual entry and import app. We never request or access:
- Your SMS messages — we do not ask for SMS permission. We never read your bank transaction messages, OTPs, or any other SMS on your device.
- Your bank credentials — we never ask you to link a bank account or enter a banking password. There is no "bank sync" feature.
- Your contacts, camera, microphone, or location — none of these permissions are requested.
What we collect
- Account identity — sign-in is handled by AppCafe SSO (auth.appcafe.in). You sign in with an email address and password. Finance Tracker stores only the unique identifier issued by the authentication service and your display name. Your password is managed entirely by auth.appcafe.in — Finance Tracker never stores or receives it.
- Email address — collected by auth.appcafe.in at registration. Email verification is not required to use the app. Your email is only used if you need to reset your password via the "Forgot Password" flow. Finance Tracker may receive your email address from the authentication service to display it in your profile, but does not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.
- Financial data you enter — transactions, categories, and account labels you create. This data exists solely for your own tracking.
- Preferences — currency symbol, number format, chart settings.
We do not collect your real name, phone number, address, or any government identification.
What we don't do
- We never sell your financial data to any third party.
- We never use your financial data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not share your financial data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use advertising trackers (e.g. Facebook Pixel, Google Ads).
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage — page views, country, device type, referral source, and which features are used most. This data is used solely to improve the app and is never linked to your financial transactions or sold to third parties.
Google Analytics sets cookies on your browser to distinguish visitors. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
How your data is stored
Your financial data is stored in a database on secure servers. All connections are encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Sign-in and password management are handled by auth.appcafe.in — Finance Tracker never receives or stores your password.
Deleting your data
To delete your account and all associated financial data, go to auth.appcafe.in → Manage Account → Delete Account. When you delete your AppCafe account, Finance Tracker automatically and immediately removes all your transactions, categories, and accounts. Deletion is irreversible — we retain no backups of deleted accounts.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. No third-party cookies, no tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
